The source of the majority of sedimentary rocks (except for those created by biologic organisms and precipitation from water) can be any kind of another rock (i.e. sedimentary, igneous or metamorphic) that was blown in the air, transported by the river, settled in the ocean or lake or just moved down from the steep mountain slope by landslide.
